Qualifications: Earned Doctoral degree in Nutrition is required for appointment. University-level teaching experience is required as well as professional work experience related to Nutrition and expertise in research design, data analysis and statistics. Seeking experienced individuals with prior research experience and grant funding. Applicants should have awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.
Responsibilities: Classroom instruction of courses in Nutrition research and methodology, undergraduate and graduate courses in nutritional science, nutrition for non-majors, and courses in related areas as expertise permits. Responsible for grant writing, curriculum planning and development, student advising, committee responsibilities, and supervision of graduate student activities. Liaison with nutrition professionals to develop field experiences, graduate student projects, and curriculum support. The position will also involve significant mentoring and consulting with graduate students on quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis, grant applications and publications. Serve as faculty advisor for the undergraduate Nutrition Science Curriculum Specialization. Participate in professional organizations related to nutrition and related fields. Interdisciplinary collaboration preferred. Teaching effectiveness, service to students and university, and scholarly/professional achievement are required for retention, tenure, and promotion. Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity-in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation-through course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.
Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department: The Department of Nutrition, Food Science and Packaging offers two concentrations under the Bachelors of Science degree in Nutritional Science: Dietetics (Accredited by The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) and Packaging.
In addition, specializations are offered in Sports Nutrition, Nutrition Education, Nutrition Science, Food Management, and Environmental Food and Health. The Department also offers a Masters of Science degree. There are over 350 students who are enrolled in the Nutrition, Food Science and Packaging Department.
