The NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) PGY2 residency program in Infectious Diseases is a full-time post-graduate training program for practitioners who desire to advance their knowledge and skills in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy. Our program is committed to providing residents with the knowledge, skills, and clinical leadership needed to practice as an integral member of the infectious diseases interdisciplinary team. This involves intensive training in a wide variety of practice settings with a diverse patient population which NYP is uniquely capable of providing, including immunocompromised hosts and antimicrobial stewardship. All residents are required to complete rotations in core subject areas considered essential to providing a well-rounded experience including clinical microbiology, ID consult service, antimicrobial stewardship, and critical care. In addition, some elective rotations offered include transplant ID, inpatient HIV, hematology/oncology, and solid organ transplantation allowing residents flexibility in pursuing their individual areas of interest. The program is flexible and focuses on the goals of the resident, but is intended to provide a well-rounded clinical, research, and teaching experience.
