Position Description and Duties:
The Program Coordinator plans, organizes, and coordinates the curriculum and practicum sites for the Dietetic Technician program in accordance with the policies and regulations set by the Board of Trustees. The coordinator is also responsible for planning the course schedule and managing the program budget in collaboration with the Dean.
Faculty Coordinators are responsible for teaching in clinical and didactic courses, and the regular assessment of student learning.
Establishes and maintains relationships with the Dietetic Technician program advisory committee and meets with the committee at least two times per year.
Responsible for submission of regular accreditation reports, program assessment, and ensuring the program meets the requirements of the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
Educational Requirements: A Master's Degree in Nutrition, Food Science Dietetics or closely related field. Candidate must hold Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) licensure from the State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations. Candidate must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Experience Requirements: Must have a minimum of three years professional experience post credentialing. Five years of professional practice, one year of teaching esperience, and experience working with Dietetic Technicians and/or as a Preceptor of Dietetics students is preferred. Experience working in a diverse environment preferred.
