The Research Lab Technician will serve as the secondary coordinator for the Vasculitis laboratory. S/he will receive, document and store all biological specimens and samples that come into the lab from the national and international collaborating clinical research centers for the PEXIVAS trial. S/he will assist with shipping supplies to clinical sites and Laboratory Safety Coordinator duties for the Vasculitis Laboratory. S/he will aliquot and ship requested biologic samples (serum, plasma, RNA and DNA) for research. Work as a member of the overall Vasculitis Center research team. The Lab Tech is expected to be able to: 1. Be organized as possible and plan ahead. This job suits a detail-oriented personality as there is a lot of paperwork to keep track of. 2. Be flexible with your time. 3. Work effectively in a group. Position is a 12 month position with a possibility for additional year depending on funding
