AURI’s Scientist of Meat and Food is located at the AURI labs in Marshall, MN and has responsibility for leading and managing the development of value-added meat and food products and processes that support the needs of AURI clients and stakeholder. Additional responsibilities include managing and maximizing AURI’s Meat lab.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master of Science in food engineering and 10 years of experience in a meat science product development role. The minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in meat technology, meat and/or food science and eight years of related experience.
*Knowledge of HACCP and sanitation principles, including related microbiology and chemistry. *Experience in food processing, food microbiology, sensory taste panels in relation to product development and food safety and quality systems *Certification in one of the following: HACCP, SQF, AIB, GFSI, ISO, BRC, IFS, or ServSafe. *Ability to apply FDA and FALCPA principles. *Adaptability to meet client needs. *Proven problem solving, decision-making, and project management skills. *Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. *Computer proficiency.
