St. Mary's Hospital is currently recruiting for a Lab Operations Manager for our Laboratory in our Core Lab. The Laboratory Operations Manager(s) under the general supervision of the Administrative Laboratory Director is responsible for providing overall leadership and management of a defined group of disciplines – Support Services, Core Lab, or Anatomical Pathology/Microbiology. This position is accountable for assuring exceptional patient care, customer service and provision of high quality laboratory services. The Manager will assist the Administrative Laboratory Director in the execution of the Laboratory's and Hospital's policies and procedures. The Manager is responsible for the overall activities of their respective departments to include technical and non-technical functions and personnel at the Hospital and Sun Prairie Emergency Center. The Manager plays a vital role in the accreditation process of both laboratories and works closely with the Laboratory Medical Director to assure department compliance with established standards of performance. The Manager will assist the Administrative Director in developing and managing and is accountable to the operating and capital budgets for his/her respective departments. The Manager is able to work independently, using general objectives and minimal guidance.
Requires a Bachelor degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or Physical Science or allied field. Must be Certified as a MT/CLS/MLS. At least four years experience in a clinical laboratory and 4 years previous supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory environment required. Lean or Six Sigma certification or training preferred.
