Kentfield Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Full Time Infection Control/Employee Health Nurse - RN to join our team!
Responsibility to assess, plan, organize, develop, implement and evaluate the infection control program and activities in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and The Joint Commission Standards. The Infection Control Program is directed by a Medical Director to ensure and maintain an effective infection control program. Authority and accountability necessary to carry out assigned administrative and surveillance duties are delegated to this position. Monitor infection control practices and procedures throughout the facility to ensure all personnel and medical staff are compliant. Provide orientation, teaching and coaching on infection control practices and policies to all employees and medical staff. Evaluate effectiveness of program, gather and analyze data and report outcomes to appropriate committees. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric experiencing medically complex conditions, general medical-surgical conditions with rehabilitation and wound care needs.
Diploma or Associate of Science Degree in Nursing required.
Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required.
Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience as an Infection Control Nurse in an acute hospital or other related healthcare facility required.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious disease, and aseptic technique to include standard/universal precautions.
Current BLS certification required.
ICP certification preferred.
Ability to project a professional image.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
