The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and The College of Medicine of the Pennsylvania State University seek an academic Clinical Pathologist (MD/DO or MD/PhD or DO/PhD), open rank on the clinical-educator track, to provide medical directorship and service coverage in the Clinical Pathology Laboratory. Directorship opportunities exist in Molecular Pathology and Hematology/Coagulation. Candidates with interest, expertise, and/or fellowship training in molecular pathology, blood banking/transfusion medicine, and/or hematopathology are highly desirable; experience in clinical informatics is helpful.
The successful candidate will join a strong, collegial Division of Clinical Pathology with 5 MD/DO and 4 PhD members. The Department of Pathology has 40 faculty in 3 divisions of Clinical, Anatomic, and Experimental Pathology. Participation in medical student, resident and fellow teaching is expected as the Department has a thriving residency program (16 residents), 4 ACGME-accredited fellowships (Surgical Pathology, Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, Hematopathology, and Dermatopathology), and 2 PhD-level training programs (Clinical Chemistry and Microbiology). Collaborative and independent research opportunities are abundant.
