The Drug Interaction Database Program in the Department of Pharmaceutics(http://www.druginteractioninfo.org) has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Scientist 4.
The person will work closely with the program director in the following areas:
Evaluate the existing approaches and processes in place for the various activities of the DIDB program (data curation protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), services, timelines and deliverables), and propose and implement changes to optimize how the team/program functions;
Assist the program director in exploring new projects and services;
Mentor junior colleagues, provide guidance for publication efforts, and support/validate all scientific evaluations related to preclinical drug-drug interactions.
This is a great opportunity for an individual with a solid background in DMPK and project management interested in the growing fields of Translational Research and Drug Information. The person will assist the program in strengthening its operations and its preclinical expertise.
Provide preclinical training to new and existing staff in both scientific and data entries.
Validate preclinical data entries and perform data entries as needed.
Maintain/update existing SOPs and create new ones as needed.
Initiate and/or actively participate in continued process improvement projects. Create and/or update documents pertaining to work procedures and process flow to optimize data entry efficiency.
Support commercial activities to expand DIDB user base and/or DIDB offerings: e.g. create and/or update marketing brochures, attend scientific meetings.

PhD's or equivalent professional degree in biomedical sciences (i.e. Biophysics, Veterinary Medicine, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, biology, microbiology, immunology, or virology),
Expertise and 7 years of experience in biomedical research.
Expertise in data analysis, using the computer programs excel, prism, flowjo and adobe illustrator.
Highly collaborative, flexible, and with a positive attitude;
Ability to work in a small multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication skills.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent with extensive experience in ADME and PK studies (>7 years);
Strong experience in project/program management, process improvement and operations management.
Prior experience with laboratory ordering and organization, management preferred
