The mission of the Robert M. Kerr Food & Agricultural Products Center (FAPC) is to discover, develop and deliver technical and business information that will stabilize and grow the value-added food and agricultural products and processing industries in Oklahoma.
The primary responsibilities include working both independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team to address the food safety and quality management needs of clientele. This will be accomplished by action, leadership and management of 1). Internal and external quality management and food safety and security programs for the FAPC, 2). Technical assistance and third-party audit programs in food safety and security for the Oklahoma food industry, 3). Other best practices programs in value-added agricultural production and food processing (GAP, GMP) for the FAPC, and 4). Interactions with regulatory agencies, trade organizations, and other external entities associated with food safety compliance and third-party audit programs. All are components of the mission of the FAPC.
• Master of Science in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Microbiology, Food Chemistry, or closely related fields • Five years’ experience in the delivery of Food Safety and Quality Management Programs • Certification, accreditation, and/or licensed in: o Accredited Lead Auditor (International HACCP Alliance) o At least one of the following Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) schemes ? BRC Approved Trainer (GFSI) ? SQF Approved Trainer (GFSI) ? Primus Approved Trainer (GFSI) o Certified HACCP Auditor (American Society of Quality, ASQ) • Certifications, Accreditations, and Licensing expected within the first 12 months: o Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Management (ASQ) o Certified Quality Auditor (ASQ) o Certified Six-Sigma Black Belt (ASQ) o Preventive Controls Lead Auditor (GFSI) o Qualified Examiner, Baldrige Criteria • Other Skills needed: o Excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to engage with manufacturing personnel at every level, middle and senior corporate management, university staff, faculty and campus management, and Agency regulators at every level o Excellent communications and computer skills, and the ability to engage in oral or written communications with ease and competency o Understanding of business logic and decision making with regard to day-to-day manufacturing operations
