Essential Job Functions: •Ensures the continuing maintenance and future growth of existing accounts through the proactive supervision and monitoring of sales within the region. •Plans, prepares and directs opportunities for new sales growth potential within the region. •Leads efforts related to discovery and attainment of new business opportunities. •Conducts needs assessment and implementation of necessary programs relating to training, marketing, advertising and competitive issues. •Assists with and provides input relating to product development and enhancement. •Conducts and provides ongoing performance evaluations, coaching and communication to personnel. •Maintains in house documentation and customer files including relevant customer relationship management software systems (Maximizer & Salesforce). •Establishes and maintains effective and positive relations with customers, company agents, and brokers. •Promotes a positive company image and fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned. •Provides input and assists with hiring of sales, technical sales and administrative positions within the department. •Exhibit thorough understanding of sales within the region and ability to provide quarterly comprehensive variance reports. •Encourage and provide presentations to strategic/key customers and oversea process to ensure maximum ROI. •Assists with other office administration as necessary, assigned and/or expected. ?Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Food Science, or related field ?7-9 years progressively responsible, post baccalaureate experience in related technical, R&D, or sales role within a food company ?Experience and knowledge of the operations function, specific to understanding how product development, project solutions and process support is handled within manufacturing ?Previous experience leading and managing teams ?Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes ?Experience in selling a variety of food ingredient products and technologies to customer accounts, aligned to taste and solutions ?Proven ability to work successfully on cross-function teams ?Experience in budgeting and account planning ?Experience negotiating and communicating pricing ?Demonstrated ability to problem solve, execute, and provide strong input to strategy •Strong track record of managing and implementing action plans •Excellent communication (verbal and written) •Clear thinker and communicator, with the ability to clearly articulate and influence across all levels of an organization, both internal and external •Ability to travel at least 50%
