GMA is currently seeking a Regulatory Affairs - Labeling and Standards professional to join our Science and Regulatory Affairs division, in the area of Labeling and Standards. The candidate will have exposure to industry leaders in food policy with a primary focus on nutrition and food labeling regulations. This unique opportunity is designed for early career food science, nutrition or policy professionals.
The Regulatory Affairs Professional will gain valuable experience performing the following activities:
Monitor and analyze policy developments at the various branches of government, NGOs, etc.
Develop information for discussion with or review by federal agencies
Develop education and training resources for GMA members and industry stakeholders including webinars, workshops, and summary documents
Oral and written communication of regulatory and nutrition information to GMA members
Provide support to a variety of other projects as identified by the supervisor and team leaders
The best candidates for this position will be recent graduates from a Master’s program in nutrition, food science, public health, or related discipline. However, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in these disciplines and sufficient professional experience will also be considered. Experience with regulatory affairs or food regulatory policy, focusing in the area of food labeling and standards is a plus. Computer skills in MS Office suite; excellent interpersonal skills; team-oriented; and excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
