National University, founded in 1971, is dedicated to the excellence in the teaching of non-traditional students. National University is a minority serving institution offering both undergraduate and graduate classes in an accelerated format at 28 campuses throughout California, Nevada, and online. Adjuncts are scheduled to teach classes on a contracted month-to-month basis. Adjunct faculty are considered part-time employees and are not eligible for benefits.

The Health Sciences Department of National University is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach online courses in clinical laboratory sciences This position is a contract appointment with a potential start date for the Fall of 2017. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree in a related field. A Ph.D. degree is preferred, but not required. Also, college-level teaching experience is a plus.

Essential Job Duties:
Teaching didactic lectures in hematology, immunochemistry, urinalysis, microbiology, clinical laboratory management, clinical chemistry, and other courses as required
Teaching courses at various times and via different media
Grading assignments and responding to student inquiries
Providing timely feedback to students’ questions and concerns
Place a strong emphasis on student-centered learning
Collaborates with other University departments to ensure a positive overall experience for all University students.
Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
Proficiency in Blackboard, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Interest and commitment to teaching
Effective oral and written English communication skills
Participating in department and university activities
Doctorate degree in biomedical sciences
Current CA CLS license or ASCP certification.
Prior university/college teaching experience
Experience with teaching adult learners
Work related experience in the area of your Master’s or PhD Degree.
Must reside and be eligible to work in the United States
