The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Nemours Children's Hospital (NCH) is seeking a Pediatric and Transfusion Medicine Pathologist.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides services in anatomic pathology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, hematology, flow cytometry and molecular testing. There is a wide spectrum of anatomic pathology subspecialties, such as bone and soft tissue pathology, muscle biopsy, epilepsy pathology and fine needle aspiration cytology. The successful candidate will join the team of three pathologists, including two pediatric pathologists and one hematopathologist.
Nemours Children's Hospital, which is currently in its fourth year of operation, is a state-of-the-art pediatric hospital that serves as the anchor for pediatric medicine in Orlando's new Medical City located in the renowned Lake Nona community (see http://learnlakenona.com). The Medical City includes the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, Orlando VA Hospital and University of Florida Research and Academic Center, all of which provide opportunities for research and academic collaboration. The Medical City complex, located minutes away from Orlando International Airport, includes multiple new residential developments, hotels, schools and business centers that make the Medical City part of a unique community. The successful candidate should have an MD degree and possess (or be eligible for) unrestricted Florida medical licensure. He/she should be board-certified in anatomic pathology or anatomic and clinical pathology, as well as have certification or extensive experience in pediatric pathology. In addition, more than 3 years of experience as a pediatric pathologist with additional training in transfusion medicine is highly desirable. Candidates who are board-certified in transfusion medicine and/or experienced in anatomic/clinical pathology with the care of pediatric patients are encouraged to apply.
