The System Infection Prevention Specialist operates the central surveillance system for infection prevention and control for the SCL Health System to improve clinical outcomes.
Assists with planning, development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and revision of system Infection Prevention Program goals, standards, policies and procedures.
Coordinates multi-disciplinary and interdepartmental efforts to improve performance of system infection prevention programs and services.
Facilitates monitoring and reporting infection trends in SLC HealthCare Sites.
Participates in the development and review of Infection Prevention Standards of Care, Policies and Procedure.
Participates in epidemiological investigations of significant clusters of infection above established standards and of unusual isolates.
Provides in-service education for the SCL HealthCare Sites, Front Range SCL Health new associate welcome, and as needed.
Provides expert review and consultation for SCL Health facility construction/remodels, and/or new patient care equipment.
Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
Located in Broomfield, CO.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field (i.e. Microbiology, Public Health) with knowledge of microbiology, infectious diseases and medical terminology, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
Three years of Infection Prevention experience, including experience with a data surveillance system.
Registered Nurse experience preferred
Experience being responsible for large, complex databases, multi-hospital data, or health system infection prevention data
