This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Human Nutrition and Food. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating undergraduate Human Nutrition and Food program, and establishing an applied or translational research agenda with external funding support and publication in refereed journals, advising students, providing quality research opportunities that support the college mission; writing grant proposal to assist with the funding needs of the College; serving as a liaison between DPD program and ACEND; reviewing DPD program curriculum to meet and maintain ACEND accreditation standards; maintaining DPD student records, including students plans and issuance of verification statements.
Earned doctorate in Nutrition, Food Science or related disciplines from an ACEND accredited program
Registered Dietitian. Must be eligible for licensure in Texas. Candidate must be familiar with the expectations of accreditation and participation in an accreditation process
Doctorate degree in Nutritional Sciences, Food, Food Systems, Dietetics or related field.
Preferred Experience Requirements:
Demonstrate commitment to high quality classroom instruction, excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated experience in overall areas of Dietetics, Foods, and Nutrition; a track record of professional development and service to the profession, research experience, and a demonstrated commitment to serve students as evidenced by effective advising, and sponsoring student organizations. Candidates seeking position as Associate Professor must have credentials that warrant an appointment to that rank.
Preferred Licenses/Certifications :
Registered Dietitian (RD). Must be credentialed a minimum of 3 years.
Faculty (including non-tenure positions) – The appointment date for this position will be for September 1, 2017 or after.
