Duties/Responsibilities: 90% Performing cell culture, DNA isolation engineering and analysis, media preparation: -cloning -nucleic acid purification -gene transfer -virus production with QA/QC -molecular analysis: (PCR, qRTPCR) of engineered cells
10% Data analysis, maintaining laboratory notebook, presentation preparation/writing, laboratory safety, and supervising undergraduate student aids

Required Qualifications: 1. BA/BS with major in biological science plus at least one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience to total five years.
2. Extensive experience in molecular biology and cellular engineering techniques. Candidate will be responsible for weekly production of retro- and lenti-virus, plasmid purification, recombinant DNA techniques to include designing synthetic sequences of DNA (i.e. G-blocks or similar) and their assembly into candidate vectors by cloning/Gibson assembly.
3. Experience with ELISA or FACS-based titering of virus.
4. Experience in cell isolation, culture, and flow and molecular analytic methodologies (ie intracellular FACS staining, PCR, and qRT PCR)
5. Understanding of laboratory protocols and necessary steps to ensure compliance with protocols and animal use regulatory standards. Biological tissue handling & processing, routine lab-related tasks.
6. Previous experience following written protocols and maintaining accurate and complete documentation of all procedures and experiments including demonstrated ability to readily perform all necessary laboratory equations and calculations.
7. Experience reporting effectively on the progress and direction of individual projects using written and verbal English, to include proper grammar usage and accurate spelling.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Team player with the ability to adapt and pursue a course of basic biological research.
