The University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor who will be supported by the University’s MN Drive Initiative (https://mndrive.umn.edu/food). The successful candidate will develop a robust research program in which some or all includes a Global Food Ventures research focus, and has the potential to complement our broad research strengths.
The Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences research strengths include microbiomes and antimicrobial drug resistance, host-pathogen interactions, immunity, infectious diseases, chronic disease biology, genomics, and translational research. The successful candidate will join a large vibrant research community spanning multiple colleges, centers, and institutes at the University of Minnesota. In addition to the dynamic research environment, the faculty hire will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including small and large animal BSL2 and BSL3 facilities. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will devote approximately 70% effort to research and 30% effort to teaching and other activities.
The minimum qualifications for this position are a PhD, DVM, and/or MD, plus postdoctoral or faculty experience. Preferred candidates will have evidence of successful grantsmanship and a record of primary research publications in highly-ranked scientific journals. The candidate must be eligible to apply for research funds from the National Institutes of Health, the United States Department of Agriculture and other U.S. federal funding agencies to support a research program of high national and international distinction.
