JOB SUMMARY: Manages all aspects of the organizations laboratory management program for Harris Health System as well as direct responsibility for system Reference Lab, Special Testing (Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics, Virology and Diagnostic Immunology) and Anatomical Pathology ( Histology, Cytology, Autopsy, Immunohistochemistry) at Ben Taub Hospital, including operational and fiscal aspects of the laboratory department. Identifies, develops and implements cost of service reduction strategies relates to laboratory services, planning and management activities at Harris Health System,. Integrates all laboratory technology assessment recommendations into strategic technology plan, technology management function and capital budget process. Assures the strategic technology plan is updated annually.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Bachelors degree in Laboratory related field. Masters degree and/or advanced certification preferred. 2. Work Experience: Ten (10) years in laboratory with Seven (7) years experience in Anatomical Pathology and Special Testing as defined above. 3. Management Experience : Ten (10) years experience at a management level position in a healthcare system with at least (5) five years in administrative director capacity involved with clinical laboratory service.
