The Clinical Dietitian works closely with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide medical nutrition therapy and health education that are compatible with the patient’s medical program goals and objectives. Primary responsibilities include outpatient planning and directing the appropriate medical nutritional therapy for each client; and counseling patients and their family members regarding the nutritional needs and dietary modifications. Participates in professional, hospital, and community activities and educational programs.

1. Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic Association and Texas State Licensure upon hire or transferred to department.
2. Diabetes Educator certification by the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators preferable but not required upon entry.
3. Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.
B. Training and Experience:
1-2 years as a practicing therapeutic registered dietitian in a hospital of at least 150 beds desired.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
