Posting Summary: The Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is seeking applicants for a 12-month Full-time Tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Food Science with focus on Microbiome and Human Health.
The successful candidate will establish an innovative, independent research program The candidate will be expected to apply for external research funding from national funding agencies such as NIH, NSF and USDA. They will also supervise, mentor, train, and teach students and other personnel; may teach courses in food science and technology as required. The candidate must possess strong skills in interpretation in dietary intake data. The candidate must demonstrate excellent oral and written competencies, interpersonal skills, and willingness to work in multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will also take a lead role in publishing science papers/presentations for scientific meetings and assist in communicating research findings. The successful candidate is expected to develop a record of scholarly activity as evidenced by publications, extramural funding and student advising.
