A full time Research Technician position, 5 days/week in the Department of Immunology Research Laboratory of Dr. Olivera Finn is available to work in the field of cancer immunology. Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or related disciplines required. Should have extensive previous experience in tissue culture techniques, flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques and working with human blood and blood products. Much of the work will be performed in vivo in mouse models. Previous experience working with mice is beneficial but it can also be acquired through training on the job. Candidate must be reliable, detail-oriented, able to work independently and possess good communication and organizational skills.
B.S. (M.S. Preferred) in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry or related fields such as Medical Technology. Laboratory experience in biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, or other related fields, would be helpful. Computer literate. Knowledge of mathematical and chemical principles. 2 years of work in the fields listed above, would be helpful, but not required. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement & vice-versa. University of Pittsburgh Experience preferred. Copy of a BS or MS diploma or other certificates of completed training claimed in the resume.
