Molecular Laboratory Technologist to develop and implement Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) compliant standard operating procedures, tests and methods in the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory (NPHL). Performs testing and analysis of clinical and environmental samples, including the development, validation, evaluation and implementation of new diagnostic methods in molecular microbiology; proper operation of equipment and resources in relationship to select projects; and the collection, analysis and review of findings to provide recommendations relevant to the continuation and successful completion of projects. Works with NPHL directors and staff in the coordination of state and national programs that are relevant to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) activities for emerging infectious diseases and biological preparedness.
