Provides information for diagnosis and prevention of COVID-19 disease by coordinating the conducting of medical laboratory tests, procedures and analyses while protecting the health and safety of themselves and others by training and managing staff to follow protocols, procedure and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Included but not limited to the following):
Helps train testing personnel to accomplish the essential duties listed below
Coordinates testing personnel to accomplish the essential duties listed below
Obtain samples to conduct tests using COVID-19 infection/immunity detecting platforms.
Follow procedures and protocols of COVID-19 infection/immunity detecting platforms to determine likelihood of infection or immunity to COVID-19 as recommended by the CDC and FDA.
Ensures operation of platforms and any other equipment (i.e. analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, flame photometers, and other laboratory equipment) by calibrating; conducting Quality Control procedures; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories;
Maintains testing supplies inventory by checking inventory levels daily; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt, completeness, and no evidence of damage of supplies.
Conserves testing resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Provides approved medical technology information by answering questions and requests by regulatory agencies, internal staff and customers.
Prepares reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and proper care and storage of equipment and supplies.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies and protocols; following identification procedures.
Maintains patient confidence and protects the company by keeping information confidential.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field (e.g., Microbiology, Hematology, Phlebotomy, or Allied Health equivalent) is preferred.
Current, unencumbered certification/licensure as a Medical Technician at time of employment.
Minimum of 3 years of applied work experience in industrial or clinical settings, preferred
Client service experience preferred.

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician Coordinator to help with developing protocols, procedures for COVID-19 testing as well as training and supporting Laboratory Technicians that will be providing on-site CLIA-waived, moderate complexity COVID-19 testing in the occupational setting.
