The primary purpose of this position is to conduct studies on naturally acquired immune responses to the transmissible stage of Plasmodium falciparum, as a means to advance malaria transmission blocking vaccine development. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant will assist with maintaining malaria parasite and bacterial cultures, limited pilot scale protein production, protein purification with fast performance liquid chromatography, western blots and other basic microbiology benchtop techniques. The Research Assistant will be responsible for keeping supplies in stock, and will provide technical support for the research project.
General background knowledge of malaria parasite biology is a plus

Education and Experience
Required: B.S. or B.A. in Biology-related field. Undergraduate research experience in molecular biology, parasitology and immunology preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
