The Program Administrator will report directly to the Academic Research Manager of Strategic Initiatives and COPPA/Research Labs. The Program Administrator will work with the Program Manager, Managers, and faculty to coordinate certain aspects of research and core lab activities. The Program Administrator will be responsible for planning, implementing and administering the day-to-day operations of a departmental program. You will contribute to the strategic planning, design, development and implementation of program objectives, procedures, processes and standards. May supervise staff as it relates to the overall management of the program.The Program Administrator will also be responsible for planning, implementing and administering the day-to-day operations of a recognized organizational and/or departmental program. Supporting research laboratory operations and core administration.
Building the core programs and supporting the Cedars-Sinai Cancer (CSC) Shared Resources needs in achieving NCI designation.
This individual will work with the research program leaders, program members, CSC leadership, and oversight committees to build and develop the core programs, as well as administer the planning and evaluation efforts and the implementation of programmatic activities of the shared resources.
Preparing, processing, and routing internal documents for signature, processing research-related financial reporting, assisting with and organizing events and seminars, organizing and coordinating HR paperwork and forms.
Applies a detailed knowledge of the areas of assigned responsibility and a general knowledge of the institute functions and its interrelation with the larger Health System organization.
Responsible for the coordination of all aspects of research laboratory operations, space and facilities management, laboratory safety, and related activities conducted in the Cancer Institute.
Participates in laboratory operations planning activities, identifies improvement areas, develops systems and/or participates in system improvements, participates in process improvements, develops standard operating procedures, and creates guidelines and manuals for consistent laboratory operations management and record keeping.
Responsible for ensuring safety and regulatory compliance of principal investigators, research staff, and research administration staff to institutional, state, federal, and local agency requirements through coordination of training for faculty and staff, performing laboratory audits and working with the EH&S and facilities groups to resolve any laboratory or research staff safety compliance issues.
Provides programmatic support, preparing summary of action plans, monitoring completion of action items, and completing action items assigned to the position for Shared Resource-related committed and working groups. Provides support to core directors, managers and program manager to prepare core-related reports.
Provides coordination of retreats, CSC Shared Resource related committee meetings, symposia, seminars, conferences, etc.. Coordinates collection, review, editing, production and/or distribution of meeting materials, reports, or presentations and preparation of folders for external consultants or CSC leadership, as assigned.
Responsible for HR-related duties related to the research laboratories and cores, including hiring, onboarding, offboarding.
Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills in organizing and prioritizing, including superior communication skills to act as liaison between faculty, administrators, laboratory staff, and other employees.
Composes and produces a variety of business correspondence, reports, newsletters, confidential documents and/or forms, and related materials.
