Postdoctoral Fellow Position at The Department of Microbiology and Immunology - (190000O7)
An NIH funded postdoctoral position is open in the laboratory of Dr. Vladimir Toshchakov at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Maryland School of Medicine. The successful candidate will develop protein interaction inhibitors that block the adapter recruitment to activated Toll-like receptors (TLRs). The planned study involves generation of recombinant TIR domains and extensive screening for drug-target co-crystallization conditions, followed by a comparative evaluation of a small series of candidate TLR inhibitors in cell culture experiments and small animal models of TLR-driven inflammation. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, with less than five years of postdoctoral experience.
