Microbiology and Environmental Toxicology Laboratory Lecturer Pool (Ongoing)
The Microbiology and Environmental Toxicology Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time Lecturers who may be appointed to teach METX 119L- Microbiology Laboratory, METX 135L- Functional Anatomy Laboratory, or METX 135C- Cadaver Dissection Laboratory (see the UCSC Course Catalog for course descriptions). Teaching assistants may be assigned to assist instructors as needed, and will be supervised by the instructor.
Outstanding candidates with experience teaching general microbiology or anatomy and related courses are encouraged to apply. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and other assigned duties.
ACADEMIC TITLE Lecturer
SALARY Commensurate with qualifications and experience and the particular courses the Lecturer is appointed to teach. Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.
Master's degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related field at the time of application
A minimum of one year of university teaching experience in the advertised areas at the time of application.
POSITION AVAILABLE Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.
