We are a clinical medical laboratory located in Southern California. We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, educated, and experienced individual to start immediately.
Clinical Laboratory Manager Job Duties:
Provides medical laboratory diagnostic services by establishing specimen preparation procedures; developing and implementing analytical procedures; evaluating laboratory information; consulting with staff; and reporting results according to protocols mandated by the public health department.
Maintain medical laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards; developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures; ensuring staff compliance; certifying instrument performance; arranging equipment replacement, service, and repair.
Maintain medical laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Maintain medical laboratory productivity by monitoring workload of functional areas; identifying peak and slack periods; making operational or staffing adjustment.
Maintain quality results by consulting with pathologists; performing proficiency surveys; reviewing quality control and quality assurance procedures; making adjustments in policy and procedures; generating reports; maintaining records.
Maintain medical laboratory information system by identifying information needs and problems; recommending improvements; establishing priorities; testing; writing user manuals; training employees; maintaining security and confidentiality.
Implement new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives; preparing proposals; developing and performing parallel testing; monitoring progress.
Maintain medical laboratory staffing by working with Human Resources Manager to recruit proper staffing. Also responsible for training laboratory staff.
Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintain medical laboratory staff results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Complies with state and professional continuing education licensure requirements.
Resolves problems by consulting with laboratory staff professionals
Provides administrative support to Laboratory staff by being on call.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Salary: $70,000.00 to $114,727.00 /year
Laboratory Manager General Requirements:
Clinical Laboratory Manager manages overall medical lab operations; developing procedures to ensure safety, security, quality, and accuracy of results; designing and performing test procedures; analyzing requests for tests and equipment; tending to administrative and management matters.
Applicant must have a master's degree in a field like microbiology, medical technology, or public health administration. Must also possess a valid California State Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.
Clinical Lab manager must be knowledgeable in both medical technology and management principles and must be able to work well with laboratory staff, must possess a good work ethic, and have strong communication skills.
