-This is an ideal position for someone who likes to work independently but also enjoys interacting with faculty, students, and staff. Researchers in the Microbiology Research Facility depend on the work of this position. -Provide autoclave and dishwashing services to research labs in the Microbiology Research Facility: -Collect glassware from labs, use laboratory dishwasher to wash glassware, pipettes and test tubes; wash, dry and prep glassware to be autoclaved. -Unplug pipettes, wash, re-plug and autoclave. -Autoclave media, lab package goods, dry goods, and biological waste. -Manage lab coat laundry orders: record incoming soiled lab coats and keep track of their return; contact company or driver when there are issues. -Communicate and coordinate with labs as needed. -Keep the dishwasher/autoclave (3-126 MRF) room clean and organized. Order dishwasher and autoclave supplies as needed. Call for service when needed. Exercise caution to prevent injury.
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials. Required Qualifications: High school graduate or the equivalent with specialization in science courses and one year of experience in maintaining laboratory supplies and laboratory equipment or equivalent additional education. Must be able to lift 20 lbs, read electronic dials, and have basic computer usage skills.
