The Advanced Residency will provide the resident with experience in Antimicrobial Stewardship and management of infectious diseases. Training is designed to strengthen critical thinking and written/verbal communication skills, as well as provide exposure to various aspects of pharmacy management/administration.
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is an 886-bed non-profit, quaternary acute care, teaching, Level I Trauma Center located in the heart of Los Angeles, California. The Pharmacy Department employs over 400 staff members who provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services, as well as outpatient services via 2 cancer centers and 3 outpatient pharmacies. The Department has an accredited pharmacy practice residency program and is affiliated with several schools of pharmacy in California. Populations served include:

Participation in rounds with Infectious Diseases Teaching Team
Participation on the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention & Control Committees
Collaboration with the Division of Infectious Diseases and Departments of Epidemiology and Microbiology
Development of hospital guidelines for the use of antimicrobials
Special projects, reports, and medication use evaluation studies
Precepting 1st year pharmacy residents and 4th year pharmacy students
Medical, Nursing and Pharmacy staff education
Participation in professional development lectures and department in-services
