The CRISPRlab is expanding the scope of its activities and is seeking a highly-qualified Ph.D. expert in bacterial genome editing using CRISPR technologies to build collaborative efforts with new stakeholders and industry partners. We are seeking competitive individuals with expertise in microbial genomics and CRISPR genome editing to develop and manage industry projects focusing on commercial strain genome editing.
Nature and scope of the research: - Independently develop and carry out bacterial genome editing (design experiments, perform research, interpret complex data) - Serve as a co-investigator on externally-funded industry-sponsored projects - Write corresponding reports, prepare presentations and draft manuscripts for publication - Serve as a liaison, manage projects and assist in the supervision of staff and students assigned to these activities

Relevant Ph.D degree (or relevant terminal degree), or relevant Master’s degree with at least 5 years of formal post-degree professional work experience. In rare instances, an individual with a comparable professional experience but less than a master’s degree, plus 8 years of exceptional relevant professional experience. May require terminal degree and licensure.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
At least two (2) years of experience in molecular microbiology, bioinformatics and genomics in general and
Two (2) years of genome editing in lactic acid bacteria.
