The Department of Immunology is seeking a Junior Research Technician to work on exciting new projects in Immunotherapy. The hire will have the opportunity to participate in projects on T cell antigen discovery by using cutting edge methods of screening antigen libraries for T cell specificities. The hire will also participate in engineering and testing novel immune receptors in cell-based assays and preclinical mouse models.
The hire will gain experience using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, including but not limited to computational flow cytometry, next generation sequencing techniques and quantitative single cell PCR. Responsibilities for this position include: 1. Sterile technique and mammalian cell culture (murine and human cell lines, human primary immune cells). 2. Basic and Advanced molecular biology, for example, qPCR, molecular cloning, library preparation for high throughput sequencing. 3. Retroviral and lentiviral vector production. 4. Cell-based functional assays such as ELISAs. 5. Conducting and analyzing flow cytometry experiments. 6. Scientific Record Keeping and Basic Data analysis. 7. Maintenance of laboratory equipment and management and QC of common reagents and materials.
Baccalaureate, B.S. degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field. And at least 2 years of work experience in immunology, microbiology, virology and/or molecular biology. This includes extensive laboratory experience in biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, or other related fields. High competency in advanced molecular biology techniques. Computer literate. Knowledge of mathematical and chemical principles. Experience with lab safety and regulatory issues. Must be able to work under pressure and meet required deadlines. Equivalent Relevant Work Experience may be substituted for degree requirement and vice-versa.
