Responsibilities Laboratory Support and Experiments (80%)
Support scientists in the laboratory, conduct experiments and assist with preparing data for publication in an assigned area of a research problem (standard virology techniques, western blot, tissue culture work, flow cytometry).
Make standard laboratory reagents (PBS and other buffers, LB media, Agar Plates, DMEM etc), keep the laboratory stocked and clean, and maintain all laboratory equipment.
Perform molecular analyses including (PCR, quantitative PCR, DNA extraction, molecular cloning, CRISPR/Cas9).
Lab Operations (10%) Assist in management of day-to-day laboratory operations (shipping and receiving, ordering supplies, inventory).
Other duties as assigned (10%)

Required qualifications - Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in a biomedical science (Microbiology, Biochemistry, etc) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant research experience to equal four years. - Experience with use and/or development of data analysis and/or data visualization tools, (e.g. R) - Experience with standard molecular biology techniques e.g. PCR, quantitative PCR, DNA extraction - Strong organizational skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications - At least one year of research experience - Experience with standard mammalian tissue culture techniques - Analysis of “omics” data, including sequence assembly and analysis - Experience with the University's ordering process in UMarket and EFS
