Candidates working in all areas of fundamental biomedical science are welcome to apply. Depending on the area of research specialization, the successful candidate can choose to be appointed in any of our basic science departments (Anatomy, Biochemistry and Biophysics, Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences, Cell and Tissue Biology, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, Microbiology and Immunology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Physiology).
The successful candidate will be expected to establish a dynamic and interactive research program, to join one of our top-ranked interdisciplinary graduate programs (see https://graduate.ucsf.edu/list-programs), to excel at graduate teaching and inclusive mentoring, and to participate in activities that promote equity and inclusion. Service and teaching expectations are comparable to those of any other tenure-track faculty position. Faculty appointment will be made at a professorial rank commensurate with current academic standing.
