About the Pharmacy Department at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH):
The Department of Pharmacy at CRMH is comprised of approximately 70 pharmacists and 70 technicians. We utilize a mix of decentralized clinical staff and specialists to provide pharmaceutical care for patient populations ranging from Level 1 trauma to neonatal critical care.
In addition to our personnel, we utilize multiple technologies to deliver care, including PyxisMedstations, centralized carousels, computerized prescriber order entry, electronic medical records and bedside barcode scanning. Approximately 45 percent of our pharmacists are adjunct or associate professors for regional schools of pharmacy and... medicine.
Residency Program Overview - Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital
The pharmacy residency programs conducted at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia have a strong commitment to the education and professional development of pharmacists. For the 2021-2022 residency class, we will offer six positions in our Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency program, two positions in our Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Critical Care program, two positions in our PGY2 Infectious Diseases program, one position in our PGY2 Internal Medicine Program, and two positions (1 PGY1 and 1 PGY2) in our two year Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Program (combined PGY1/PGY2).
All of our programs are fully accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), with the exception of our HSPAL program which is seeking full accreditation at this time.
