The Oregon Clinic is seeking a full-time Infection Prevention Specialist to join our Quality and Risk Management staff in NE Portland. This position will regularly travel to clinics in the Portland Metro area. The Infection Prevention Specialist is responsible for the clinic-wide Infection Prevention and Control Program. This role will direct others towards process improvement that supports the reduction of healthcare acquired infections. Provides leadership for the development and implementation of an entity wide infection prevention and control plan, educates other practitioners and clinical staff on the system-based causes for infections, consults with management and staff, develops and implements evidence-based programs that support effective infection prevention and control strategies. Responsible for integrating the infection prevention and control program into all applicable organization components/ functions by way of consultation, participation at meetings, and the establishment of effective communication and reporting systems with clinic leaders and associates. In addition, this role is responsible for Employee Health and Safety initiatives including OSHA compliance and the TOC Flu prevention program. Pay is dependent on experience and license: $40.06 - $47.13 per hour.
Bachelor’s degree required.
3+ years of experience preferably in Infection Prevention standards.
Infection Prevention education required.
Current CPR and BLS certification required.
Degree in Nursing with current Oregon license or equivalent education or experience preferred.
MPH, clinical related field preferred or experience in laboratory sciences such as microbiology or epidemiology preferred.
Prior Infection Prevention experience preferred.
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) preferred.
Familiarity with OSHA standards in Healthcare settings.
