A research specialist (lab technician) position is available in the Alexandre lab in BCMB department at UTK (http://bcmb.utk.edu/people/faculty/gladys-alexandre/). The lab is working on the mechanisms by which motile soil bacteria detect and navigate the environment, including the plant rhizosphere, using chemotaxis. We are using microbiology, molecular biology, genetics and microscopy approaches to study how bacterial chemotaxis contributes to plant root surface colonization and nitrogen fixation. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience. This is a full time position with a full benefits package from the University of Tennessee.
Candidate is expected to perform experiments to support ongoing research projects. This may include bench work and/or data analysis.
