THIS IS A TIMELIMITEDPOSITIONWITH AN ESTIMATEDDURATION OF AT LEAST 1 YEAR.
The Research Specialist will be involved in various ongoing projects on the pathogenesis of infectious respiratory diseases. This will involve microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and animal studies. The Research Specialist will support ongoing studies in the lab, assist with lab organization and management, and be responsible for ordering, lab safety requirements, and standard experimental protocols and procedures. The applicant will also be responsible for training and supervising new lab personnel. It is anticipated that the Research Specialist will contribute to the lab's research at a level that will earn authorship on peer-reviewed publications.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Must have good organizational and communication skills, both written and oral. Must be familiar with research lab safety standard operating procedures.
Bachelor's degree in biological sciences (preferably including microbiology, biochemistry, and genetics coursework).
