Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Center for Emerging and Re-Emerging Pathogens within the New Jersey Medical School. Under direction of the Principal Investigator, the Temporary Research Assistant (TRA), conducts microbiological, immunological, or biomedical data science research activities to explore the systems biology of infectious diseases.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Performs computational analysis including, not limited to, network modeling, next-generation sequencing analysis, bioinformatic statistical testing, machine learning and other biomedical data analyses.
Assists the Principal Investigator with the preparation of grant applications and manuscripts.
Assists the Principal Investigator in written and formal presentations to industrial collaborators and funding agencies.
Demonstrates good team spirit and communication skills.
As required, assists in the implementation of the programs and projects in special areas of interest to the department.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Experience in programming, machine learning, or biomedical data science.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays when necessary to meet deadlines.
