The Braunstein laboratory in the UNC School of Medicine Department of Microbiology and Immunology is seeking a hardworking and motivated postdoctoral fellow with an interest in studying pathogenic mycobacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium abscessus). Mycobacterial biology, pathogenesis, and antimicrobial development projects are available. The position is to conduct independent research that will include experimental design and performance, data analysis, progress reporting, and training of other personnel. UNC and the Microbiology and Immunology Department each have postdoctoral associations that provide career development opportunities.
Education and Experience:
Knowledge of microbiology and infectious disease is required. Experience working in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory environment is also required. Experience with animal models of infectious diseases is desirable. Our team is highly collaborative, and we are looking for a team player with outstanding oral and written communication skills.
