The Rockefeller University seeks a Laboratory Manager to join Host-Pathogen Biology. Under direction from the Laboratory Head, the Laboratory Manager will perform research and lab administration in the Laboratory of Host-Pathogen Biology at Rockefeller University. Research responsibilities will include conducting experiments across multiple projects central to the laboratory's research on tuberculosis; projects will utilize genome-scale forward genetics and molecular biology to elucidate the mechanisms Mycobacterium tuberculosis uses to survive antibiotic therapy and persist in the host. Will perform molecular cloning, tissue culture, gene expression analysis, next-generation sequencing, and work with cellular and animal models. Lab administration and management responsibilities include maintaining lab databases, procedures, and protocols; serving as a primary point of contact between the laboratory and vendors, the University, IACUC, and EHS; and ensuring that lab members comply with all laboratory rules and regulations and provide training when necessary, including in BSL2 and BSL3 practices. Master's or Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences required. Must have a minimum of two years of laboratory experience and training in microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, or a related field. Prior experience working in a BSL3 laboratory is strongly preferred. Must be willing to be trained and work in biosafety level 2 and 3 (BSL2 and BSL3) environments, including mice. Must have strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work effectively as part of a dynamic team to reach challenging milestones promptly.
