We seek scientists who will pursue a research program in viral immunology, virus-host interactions, viral pathogenesis, or related areas in virology relevant to human disease. Ideal applicants will be creative and collaborative scientists using state-of-the-art approaches that combine genomics, cell biology, genetics, bioinformatics, biochemistry and in vitro or in vivo models of infection.

We especially encourage applicants with research interests that embrace interdisciplinary approaches and can integrate with the University of Kentucky College of Medicine priority research areas: diabetes and obesity, cardiovascular disease, cancer, substance abuse and neuroscience.

Who we are MIMG faculty (http://microbiology.med.uky.edu/) have developed strong program in microbial pathogenesis and immunology and are currently building a microbiome interest group.
