Under supervision and with training provided, the Junior/Assistant/Associate/Full Specialist works closely with and provide vital technical support to post-doctoral and PhD student colleagues in carrying out research on engineered immune cells for cancer therapy. The duties will include: 1) the maintenance of cancer cell lines and primary immune cell cultures, 2) routine viral transductions to engineer immune cells, 3) cloning of new plasmids and maintenance of plasmid stocks for the lab, 4) and routine cellular assay such as flow cytometry to analyze the engineered immune cells
Required Qualifications: • Ability to stay focused, including when conducting repetitive tasks. • Rigorous attention to detail. • Excellent organizational skills. • Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills. • Ability to take comprehensive notes on work. • Ability to organize, maintain and analyze large sets of computer data. • Ability to work well in a team environment with heavy workloads and tight deadlines. • Excellent sterile lab technique, ability to safely handle toxic chemicals • Ability to learn new lab skills and adapt to changes quickly. • Must have (or in process of obtaining) a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) or four years of research experience to be appointed at the Junior rank. • Must have (or in process of obtaining) a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least five to ten years of research experience to be appointed at the Assistant or Associate ranks. • Must have (or in process of obtaining) a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or at least ten or more years of research experience to be appointed at the Full rank.
