The Department of Microbiology & Immunology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a full-time Senior Technician in the Ivanov laboratory.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, Dr. Ivaylo Ivanov, the Senior Technician will oversee management of a large mouse colony organization and perform experiments in the field of microbiota and mucosal immunology as well as assist in general lab organization.

Maintenance and organization of the laboratory animal colony
Animal husbandry, sample collection, genotyping
Assist lab members in performing experiments
Maintain detailed records
Participate in general lab organization
Bachelor???s Degree or equivalent in education and experience.
1.5 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
Significant research experience with laboratory animals is required. Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed laboratory records.
Experience with laboratory mice ??? colony management, husbandry, tissue processing and genotyping.
Knowledge of related basic laboratory techniques
