Job Summary/Essential Job Functions: The Senior Administrative Service Assistant provides day-to-day administrative/clerical support to the Chairman of the Department, faculty, staff, and students of the Microbiology, Immunology, and Biochemistry department. This position handles the departmental purchasing transactions, non-competitive purchases, the coordination of biweekly and monthly time reporting, and travel authorizations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate activities regarding the initial search, evaluation, selection and hiring of new faculty.
Collect and compile application packets and assemble for search committee review.
Implement the evaluation process, rank the candidates and schedule search committee meetings.
Review packets for accuracy and completeness and provide packets to committee members.
Verify and obtain credentialing and licensure. Contact selected candidates for interview and arrange visits.
Review, update and maintain faculty database information. Collect, compile data and schedule faculty evaluations.
Submit letters of recommendation and required documentations for promotion.
Prepare, distribute and maintain timesheets for all exempt and non-exempt employees.
Enter new hires and terminated employees into the IRIS system.
Record attendance at departmental meetings, assist with preparation and transcription of minutes.
Work with the Department Equipment Committee (faculty) to facilitate maintenance and repairs of shared equipment.
