The Institute for Food Safety and Health (IFSH) is a joint initiative of Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that works in close collaboration with corporate partners to ensure and promote the integrity of our food supply. IFSH currently operates with a budget of approximately $8-10M per annum and a staff, including faculty appointments, of 40-45. We are seeking a new Executive Director, who will lead IFSH in fulfilling its crucial mission and grow IFSH to address future challenges.

Education & Experience:
Possess an international reputation in a significant area of research in food safety or nutrition, including the academic credentials to be appointed as an IIT full professor with tenure in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition or a related IIT department.

Demonstrate the ability to lead and grow a multi-stakeholder research organization, including establishing strong working partnerships with government organizations, corporations, academic institutions, and other academic units at IIT;
Have a strategic vision for the global future of food safety and health, especially how it will take advantage of the digital transformation of our economy and society;
Exhibit outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative style, and the capability to manage a multidisciplinary team; and
Lead by example and demonstrate high professional and personal integrity and values.
