A full-time postdoctoral position is available immediately to study virus interactions with host factors in Dr. Richard Roller's lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. The position currently available will work on the following projects: (1) Mechanisms of herpes simplex virus nuclear and cytoplasmic assembly, and (2) Mechanisms of herpesvirus epithelial cell-to-cell spread. The successful candidate will join an existing team of postdoctoral researchers and graduate students and will have the opportunity to be appointed to NIH-funded T32 training grants and to develop independent research projects. Individuals who intend to follow a career in academic science are especially encouraged to apply.



The Roller lab is in an interdisciplinary and highly interactive department offering state-of-the-art equipment and core facilities.
