The Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM) in Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service (http://isim.georgetown.edu), located in Washington DC, has a new opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow to begin August 2022.

We seek applicants interested in an existing project that examines climate change and environmental conditions, health and well-being, and internal/international migration in Bangladesh. The project includes a multidisciplinary team of demographers and environmental scientists who have been conducting research in Bangladesh for more than a decade. Although we welcome applicants with substantive experience in any relevant area, we seek applicants with deep knowledge of demographic and quantitative data analytic techniques, and someone who can work independently to analyze data using a variety of data sources including the Bangladesh Environment and Migration Survey and the Demographic Health Surveys. The fellow will be expected to work with project members to analyze data and write-up findings for publication. Prior experience in Bangladesh or South Asia is desirable, but not required. This position offers a one-year postdoctoral fellowship, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Annual salary is $70,000 plus benefits, office space, computer equipment, and a $2,500 annual travel and research account. (This position can be in-person or a mix of remote and in-person; such details will be worked out between the successful candidate and ISIM.)
