Job Summary The Clinical Dietitian II provides high-level nutrition education and medical nutrition therapy to patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to maximize patients' nutritional status and improve clinical outcomes. Primary responsibilities include managing the daily schedule to maximize patient care, and providing evidenced-based and patient-centered nutrition care to patients. Other responsibilities include performing projects, presentations, and in-services both within the department and to members of the multidisciplinary team. In addition, training dietitian staff and dietetic interns, and serving as a resource to other dietitian staff.
This position will cover the Smith Clinic plus the Acres Home Health Center Food Farmacy. For the role at Smith Clinic, the primary population will be patients receiving cancer treatment. For the role at Acres Home Health Center Food Farmacy, it will include seeing patients with uncontrolled diabetes both 1-on-1 and in group classes that include teaching culinary programming using food offered in the food farmacy. This position is currently set at hybrid telecommute / in-person, with some days working in-person in the facility, and others working from home seeing patients via telehealth.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees: Bachelors of Dietetics, Food Science or Nutrition required; Masters of Dietetics, Nutrition, or Public Health preferred.
Licenses & Certification: Registered Dietitian prior to hire Licensed Dietitian (LD) State of Texas within 60 days of hire Eligible certifications: Advanced Practitioner Certification in Clinical Nutrition (RDN-AP), Board Certification as a Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR); Board Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM); Board Certification in Oncology Nutrition (CSO); Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP); Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC); Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) preferred.
Work Experience: Two years experience in Dietetics/Nutrition;
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact/Public Speaking); Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking) Writing /Correspondence Writing /Reports
Language Skills: Spanish preferred
Proficiencies: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PC
